(A) I am trying to locate owners who purchased their Universal carbine when it was new and still have documentation that indicates the month and year.
(B) If your carbine still has the original box, manual, or other items that have a name and address, I'm trying to identify which carbines were sold under which name (i.e. Dynamic Merchandise, Universal Sporting Goods, Universal Firearms). This also helps to narrow the time period a carbine was made.
(C) I am on a constant hunt for catalogs, manuals, sales fliers, etc for all of the commercially manufactured carbines. If you have one of these items, please consider sharing a copy. I don't collect these items, I'm interested in the information they contain so I can share it here.
Below are questions numbered 1-7. Each number has one or more pictures showing what I'm looking for. Each picture is identified by a letter. All you need to do is e-mail me with the question numbers 1-7, and indicate the answer (A, B, C, etc) after the number. Here's an example you can copy/paste into your e-mail and edit it to correctly match your carbine.
EXAMPLE
[1] 3864xx
[2] 00-99 or none
[3] indicate the date, or none
[4] A B C D E F G
[5] A B
[6] A B C
[7] A B none
[1] What is the complete serial number, or, in lieu of the complete serial number feel free to substitute an x for each of the last two digits (i.e. 123456 would be 1234xx)?
[2] On the left side of the receiver below the stock line, IF there are two numbers stamped in the side of the receiver (may be under the plastic cover for the scope mount holes), what are they? If none, please indicate "none".

[3] IF inside the front of your stock there is a date, what is it? If none, please indicate "none". Only a few stocks have this and it indicates the date the stock was completed by the manufacturer.
Note: You may or may not find the letters BWI and/or 2 or 3 numbers on the stock and handguard. BWI was the stock manufacturer who placed matching numbers on the stock and handguard to indicate to the assemblers which stock was finished with which handguard.
[4] Is the word "Universal" on the receiver:
[B] Center between the rear sight and bolt, or...
[C] On the front of the receiver with Hialeah, FL and Cal. 30 M1, or...
[D] On the front of the receiver with Hialeah, FL and the Patent #, or...
[E] On the front of the receiver with Hialeah, FL, Cal. 30 M1, and the Patent #, or...
[F] On the front of the receiver with Jacksonville, AR Cal. 30 M1, and the Patent #, or...
[G] Is the Universal name missing and the letters UFC are stamped near the serial number?
[5] Look at the bottom of the carbine. Is the stock cut for the trigger housing narrower in the trigger area [A] or rectangular [B]?

[6] On the slide by the handle, is the slide solid [A], has a hole with a screw to the left [B], or have a hole with a rectangle to the left [C]?

B

C
[7] IF there is a lever/pin sticking up on the right side of the receiver, does it have a round ball on top [A] or is the pin just straight [B], or none?
